Reminder: CIFEJ Int'l Short Film Script Contest - Deadline for participation extended

 Extended deadline for submissions is the end of  May 5th,  2013

 Who can participate: The contest is open to ALL script writers of short films for children; you do not have to be a member of CIFEJ.

Subject of the Contest: “My classmates and I; with a focus on the needs, wants, and best interests of children and young people.”

Awards: Three successful film scripts will be identified and will win the cash prize as indicated in the rules.

Language: You must submit the scripts in English language

CIFEJ in collaboration with “Dytiatko” Festival will organize the International Conference on “Global Village, Children, TV and Cinema”.

The Conference is held during the International Children’s Television Festival “Dytiatko” on September 25 to 28, 2013 in Kharkov.

Notification of acceptance: 24th July, 2013

Final papers/condensed papers due: 12th August, 2013


Call for Entries - Busan International Kids' Film Festival

Busan International Kid's Film Festival will take place from July 24th to 28th, 2013

Busan International Kids' Film Festival (BiKi) is a visual culture festivity for children, leading  the future of Busan, known as the City of film and visual arts. It provide not only pleasures but a ground for visual arts education, as well. Having started its pre-festival in 2005, BiKi has been holding a festival every year in July or August since 2006 during summer vacation for school children. This year, its 8th edition will be held from July 24th to 28th at Busan Cinema Center in Korea.

The screening program of 8th BiKi is composed of BiKi Feature Films, BiKi Short Films, Special Programs, Ready Action (films made by children age 6-16) with events such as Poster Contest and Exhibition, Tent Theater, Anime Music Concert, Media Sharing Market, Film and Fun, Kids' Cine-Playground, Children Filmmakers' Night Party, Film Workshop and Seminars.

"Ready~Action!" is the only competitive section of BiKi for films made by 6 to16 year- old- kids and young people in and out Korea. During the festival, Children Jury will choose the best films in the final screening, which are well angled toward kids' points of view.

The 5th International Children’s Television Festival “Dytiatko” will be held on September 25th to 28th, 2013.

Young television and radio fans as well as animators, television companies and producion centers creating programs for children are invited to participate with their works.

Bulgarian, Croatian, German Co-production Film Wins CIFEJ Prize in Tehran

"Father”, the animated-documentary film directed and co-written by Ivan Bogdanov won the CIFEJ Prize for the best film at Tehran Animation Film Festival 2013. 

In “Father” the reality of life is turned upside down to create an impossible dialogue - the dialogue between a child and a father that never happens.
