BOARD MEETING, JOHANNESBURG
The Johannesburg Board meeting was a resounding success. The Board managed
to complete a very packed agenda and we have some interesting highlights to
share with all CIFEJ members. So whilst the credit crunch and global
meltdown is taking over all news - the good news is that like Obama - the
CIFEJ Board has managed against all odds to say YES WE CAN! We have
succeeded to find solutions to many challenges and the main solution is that
we have an interim HQ hosted by Kanoon in Iran with a budget that will
ensure the lifeline of CIFEJ for the next 3-5 years! We are also pleased to
announce the GA will take place in Taipei, Taiwan in June '09 and that we
will be having a CIFEJ Production Office based in Poland with support from
the Polish Filmmakers Association offering CIFEJ members the opportunities
for co-productions and project development support. So CIFEJ will return to
one of its primary mandates of providing opportunities for producing
Children's Films!
We managed to overcome many hurdles to ensure that CIFEJ would have a new
life- we wish you all a very pleasant December break- Merry Xmas! Eid
Mubarak! Happy Holidays! May your New Year be filled with all that you hope
for!
Best Regards,
Firdoze Bulbulia, Sec-General, CIFEJ
