It’s said that “always a first time is the most different” and for me who was attending in ECFA GA for the first time, it was like that.
The warm and sincere environ-ment of the GA and the relatively active presence of the members in the meeting, a meeting in good shape, were among the outstanding and distinctive characteristics of this assembly.

LETTER FROM PRESIDENT

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! As we embark on a new two-year term for the CIFEJ Board may I take this opportunity to welcome all Board members and to thank Mohsen, Maryam and KANOON for the excellent services they are providing CIFEJ. The Executive Board of CIFEJ met in Poland early December 2009 during the Ale Kino Film Festival to prepare the agenda for the next two year term of the CIFEJ Board. We would like to thank Jerzey and the Ale Kino Team for hosting us.

Miomir is assisting us with the new website for CIFEJ as well as the Virtual General Assembly and all Board members are offering their support in the preparation of the website, Virtual GA and our second Board meeting which will take place in Belgrade, Serbia 21-25 April and hosted by Miomir and his team.

We have great expectations for the next two years and we urge you to persevere as we put together the finishing touches to the CIFEJ Website and the Virtual GA. We invite you all dear members to be part of the Virtual GA and to ensure that your concerns are raised and answered.

This year brings some exciting new projects and proposals. The CIFEJ HQ offers all members the opportunity to send in a proposal that will be moderated by the Board and the winning proposal will receive a US$5000 grant from CIFEJ-KANOON. The Global Kids for Kids partners are working on the final productions and hope to have a Global KFKF during the 6th World Summit which will take place 14-18 June in Karlstad. We appeal to members to please participate in this very important Children’s Media event.

We will meet all members online during the Virtual CIFEJ GA so please be ready to engage with us so that together we can ensure a CIFEJ that we can all be proud of.
