Ali Moallem, the great Iranian producer, critic, the publisher and editor in chief of the Picture of World Magazine and the director of the CIFEJ board, passed away on March 13, 2017. This is a note from Mohsen Chiniforoushan, the Secretary General of CIFEJ about him:

I am so sad these days. How suddenly it happened and how soon it becomes late! I haven’t believed yet that Ali has gone. He was my old friend and we had very good times with each other.  He knew the cinema very well and loved children cinema and now his loss is felt in Iran cinema and CIFEJ. The last time he attended at the CIFEJ board meeting was last year in Dubai and he had many Ideas and points of view that I hope we can continue them after him.
Ali Moallem, the board member of CIFEJ passed away yesterday because of heart attack while he was working in his office. His sudden death was a great shock for me and the cinema society of Iran. During these days I continuously think about this Nelson Mandela’s word that said:
There are three things in life that you can never achieve again: The words after being said, the time after being passed, and the humans after being passed away.
So, my dear friends lets appreciate each other and use our opportunities more.
