The 1st MICE Havana, is going to be held on January 29, 30 and 31 and February 1, 2020, in morning sessions, we embark on a new and exciting adventure: the realization of the 1st International Educational Film Show in Cuba.
Based on the work of the Unial Network (Red Unial), the good practices of MICE Valencia and the successful experience in edu-communication of the Valencian state education, with the celebration of the 1st MICE Havana, we aim to give a strong motivating impulse to develop the tools that help us to form a critical, free and cultured viewer, promoting Audiovisual Education and quality cinema beyond the globalized industrial consumerism.
It is essential to ensure that children and youths are not only consumers of the media, but also become critical viewers and, more importantly, creators of audiovisual messages based on their needs, dreams and realities.
With this first edition of the MICE we want to open a window to the international educational cinema and make La Havana a reference of edu-communication at world level: open a screen for film professionals, teachers and students to have a stage to present their audiovisual practices and show cinema with children's, youth and educational content difficult to distribute in commercial circuits.
We also want to pay tribute to Pablo Ramos creator of the Red Unial, organizer of the event and his role as an edu-communicative pioneer in the world. And for this, we would like to count on your presence and support during this first edition. A first edition that we want to give way to a second, a third and a consolidation of the festival as a reference meeting point for film and education.
MICE Havana is the product of a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of effort and many dreams of half of the world united as a large family.

- Presentation of pioneering Audiovisual Education experiences by Cuban and Valencian Educational Centers.
- Presentation stands of the international festivals that attend the festival.
- Congress of Edu-communication.
- Visit and presentation of the EICTV of San Antonio de los Baños.
- Classical guitar concert putting live music to movies.
- Workshops for boys and girls in the Art Gallery of Jorge Perugorría, in the Muraleando Project and in other spaces to be concreted.
- Filming of an educational short film in collaboration with Havana-Valencia.
- Official reception.
- Visit to the studios and reception at ICAIC.
- Presentation of the 2nd MICE Havana.
- Assistance of international directors and actors/resses.
- Cuban farewell party.
- Top-notch master class and many other activities in which you can be both active and engaged spectators. If you join to all this the magic of a city like La Havana, you already have more than enough reasons not to miss the appointment.
The conjunctural situation that Cuba is going through does not allow us to cover any expense of the guests to the event and the youth of the 1st MICE Havana does not, yet, attract sponsors. Therefore those who wish to attend the festival will have to do it affording flights, accommodation and meals. Still, we dare to keep inviting you and honor us with your presence.
The activities we offer will be of great quality and interest and you will contribute to improve them. If you would like to attend, please reply to the email josep@jordielmussol.com. We advise you to look for accommodation around 23rd and L streets to facilitate the meeting and appointments in a certain place in the city.
